‘Southern Landscape’ Series
Two pastel Drawings for Paintings
The idea again originated during a stay in the south of France. I was interested
in the seemingly timeless landscape, often sparse and at other times covered
and dominated by the endlessly varied lines and angles of vineyards. The whole
dwarfing the small villages, where the people live out their lives with little
change. The heat of the sun, the pervasive blue of the sky, the rivers and the
sea unchangingly providing the basic needs.
